Wrong: “No serious engineer skips tests.” “I know several who do.” “Then they’re not serious.”

Right: “Fine—many skip tests. Here’s why they shouldn’t.”

The definition was quietly edited mid-argument to make the claim survive.

A universal claim meets a counterexample, and instead of the claim yielding, the category shrinks to exclude it. The claim then can’t be falsified—which people mistake for it being strong.

How to answer it: ask what would count as a counterexample. If nothing could, there’s no claim being made.
